Precious Moments have a variety of product line-ups and editions such as Precious Moments Disney, seasonal items, and religious.  One of these unique collections comes in the form of the John Deere series.  John Deere is a manufacturer of different landscaping equipments and they are one of the pioneers in their line of business.  The history of John Deere dates all the way back to 1840 when an entrepreneur blacksmith manufactured the first of its kind steel-cast plow to endure the hard soil of Illinois.  These cast-steel plows were better suited and well-capable of digging and plowing through the tough soil of the Middle Eastern and Middle Western portion of the United States.

Before the invention of the cast-steel plow, the farmers from Illinois used the widely common plow at that time, which is the iron cast plow.  The cast-iron plows that were widely used during those times had tendencies to quickly rust, bend or break, especially when used all the time.  The material and design innovation behind the creation of John Deere’s steel plow have given it the edge to perform better and extend its longevity over cast-iron plows.  The plow became very successful among farmers and John Deere owed his success to his invention of the steel cast plow.

To the following years, decades, and century, the John Deere Company, now mostly known as Deere & Company, is the leading and the largest manufacturer of agricultural equipments not just within the United States, but also in the world.  Their products include combine harvesters, tractors, and planters to name a few.   Aside from agricultural and construction hardware, John Deere also provide for the home market with products such as chainsaws, lawn-mowers, and trimmers.  They now also manufacture ATVs or All-Terrain Vehicles, snowmobiles, and other motorized vehicles used for outdoor recreations.  The John Deere machines and equipments are recognized with their logo of a running deer in green and yellow colors and with their slogan “Nothing Runs like a Deere.”
